Well done toBrian for having this 79lbs monster catfish from our canal lake. He had only been set up for 45 minutes when his half a can of luncheon meat went tearing off giving him a fight and a half for 25 mintes!

AFTER OUR SUCCESS WITH THE COMPETION’S LAST YEAR. WE WILL BE STARTING THEM UP AGAIN FOR EVERY FIRST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH STARTING ON MAY 6TH. SAME RULES APPLY AS LAST YEAR.
It is optional to enter and it is not a serious competition, just a good bit of sport for our anglers if they wish to join in.
Normal day ticket rules will apply
with the option to use up to 3 rods if you choose to pay for 3 rods. It will
start at 9am on the Sunday morning and finishes at 7pm Sunday night.
Entry into the competition will be
charged at £10 per person on top of your normal day ticket. There are 2 top prizes, 1 for the biggest fish caught and also 1 for the most total weight
caught.
So the competition could be won by a single Catfish, Carp or even a keep net full of silver fish. We have around 45 pegs available making the potential jackpot £450 split between the 2 top prizes if everyone joins in.

WELL DONE TO MARK SMITH WHO MANAGED TO CATCH THIS 63.8LB MONSTER FROM OUR CATFISH CANAL. MARK IS A REGULAR TO OUR WATERS AND HAS CAUGHT SOME NICE FISH BUT NOWHERE NEAR THE SIZE OF THIS BEAST! HE WAS USING DOUBLE HALIBUTT PELLET ON A FLOAT. SPECIAL THANKS TO NICK WATKINS FROM THE ANGLING DEVELOPMENT BOARD WHO RUSHED TO ASSIST MARK WITH A NET.

CATFISH CANAL IS NOW OPEN!

AFTER A LOT OF HARD WORK AND EFFORT, OUR CATFISH CANAL IS NOW OPEN FOR FISHING. A SPECIAL THANKS TO NICK WATKINS FROM THE ANGLING DEVELOPMENT BOARD (ADB), NATHAN GLOVER FROM NASH BAITS, WAYNE (BUZZ) PLUS ALL THE OTHERS THAT GOT IN AND DIRTY AND MADE THIS POSSIBLE. EVERY SINGLE INCH WAS FELT BY HAND AND ALL OF THE SNAGS AND WEED ARE NOW OUT. WE HAVE DISCOVERED A TOTAL OF 44 CATFISH SO FAR RANGING FROM 2LBS TO 92LBS WHILST WORK WAS GOING ON. WELL DONE TO ALL! THANK YOU!

ON WEDNESDAY 1st JUNE AN ELDERLY COUPLE OF GENTELMEN ARRIVED EARLY AND STARTED THEIR SESSION OFF WITH A COMMON AT 36.7LBS, WHICH WE ARE AWAITING PICTURES FOR. BUT IN THE AFTERNOON THEY MANAGED TO REEL IN OUR CATFISH AT A MASSIVE 92LBS. SO IN ONE DAY AND ON A CONSESSION TICKET THE FISHERMEN HAD BEAT THEIR PERSONAL BEST CATCHES FOR BOTH CARP AND CATFISH AND WALKED AWAY £50.00 BETTER OFF TOO. A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE YOUNG MAN IN THE PICTURE WHO GOT INTO THE WATER AND MADE THIS CATCH POSSIBLE. WELL DONE!!!!!
